For their new foundation office, the axioms of outreach and community engagement were at the heart of our commission. This space aimed to provide transparency to the neighborhood and support the presidential library construction efforts. Clean lines with simple details; each area was created to be flexible with public and private zones to serve specific requirements.
As an organization that fosters individual growth and development, the Obama Foundation sought opportunities to involve the community in the construction. To achieve this goal, KSP designed the touchdown meeting area of off-the-shelf plywood material.
These rooms were constructed by the Sweet Water Foundation, a regenerative neighborhood development organization that trains and cultivates skills and careers in art, design & build projects, carpentry, sustainability, and agriculture.
