An art installation by Artist Ann Hamilton to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Oriental Institute required a team that understood the layout of the curved Mansueto Library ceiling.
The concept was to free the figures from their horizontal setting inside the museum's glass cases. Mesopotamian Temple figures from Tel Asmar (circa 2900-2500 BC), which have been on display at the Oriental Institute, now look down from the glass dome, backlit by the sun.
