Levi Building Portal: Divine Detail Award

We are honored to receive a Divine Detail Award from the AIA for the Edward H. Levi Administration Building Portal. Prominently placed at the axis terminus of the University of Chicago quadrangle, the Portal opens up movement through the campus along 58th Street. An asymmetrical, faceted facade of transparent, translucent and opaque glass brings a new texture to the existing Art Deco building. As one juror noted,

“It’s an elegant expression of connectivity that’s very important for wayfinding.”
