Senior Associate Principal, Laura Jiménez AIA, LEED AP, CPAU, has been appointed Co-Director of the Americas Region at the Council on Vertical Urbanism (CVU). The appointment was announced at the CVU 2026 Americas Conference in Austin, Texas, where she will also take part in the program as a session moderator.

Laura’s new role reflects her ongoing commitment to dialogue around density, sustainability, and equitable growth across the Americas. At KSP, her work connects research, practice, and advocacy in urban design, positioning her as a key voice in shaping resilient cities well beyond Chicago. Her participation in the conference moderation “Planning for Change in the Americas” brings together leaders from cities, academia, and consulting and reflects both her regional perspective and her ability to convene interdisciplinary conversations on the future of urban environments.

Laura also co-edited Density and Resiliency Across the Americas, a monograph published in 2025 by CVU (formerly, Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat). The publication brings together case studies from across North, Central, and South America, examining how cities are responding to rapid urbanization, climate change, and socio-economic pressures.
