Laura has over 25 years of experience in high-profile design, construction, and revitalization of buildings within a diverse range of projects. She has worked at notable offices such as Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture, Perkins & Will, and DeStefano + Partners. She excels in leading teams in the design of efficient and high-performance-based buildings, including the integration of all disciplines, as well as working closely with clients to help them understand and meet their expectations
Laura received her Master of Architecture II from Syracuse University and her Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires. She is licensed in Illinois and Argentina along with being a LEED Accredited Professional. While working at DeStefano + Partners and Perkins & Will, Laura served as the Design Manager and liaison between those offices and Santiago Calatrava’s, during the Chicago Spire project. Laura has also worked on projects that span multiple offices and regions, showing not only her depth of knowledge but also her collaborative nature.
With decades of practice, Laura has a multitude of awards under her belt, including The Chicago Athenaeum International Architecture Award for Dancing Dragon in 2013 and 2014, along with the International Property Awards, Arabian Property Award for Architecture in the Middle East Region for the Masdar Headquarters in 2010.
Laura will be leading Whittaker Courthouse Façade Replacement for the General Services Administration (GSA) in Kansas City. The project includes replacing the existing curtain wall system along with roof updates. The new façade will complement the existing building, while also bringing new materials performance and technologies to the design and construction process.
