Ryan’s career in architecture began as a construction laborer, where he worked on over a dozen high and mid-rise towers throughout Chicago. This foundational experience helped develop his belief — how a material is used is just as important as the type of material itself.
He has continued his passion for physically creating objects through the design and fabrication of furniture. At the building scale, Ryan is interested in the human aspects of architecture. He enjoys designing space with light and material to promote the mental well-being of the building’s occupants. Outside of architecture, he is an avid rock climber, runner, and cyclist.
Ryan attended Washington University in St. Louis, where he earned a Master of Architecture and Master of Construction Management. He received a BS in Architecture from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
