Mouna Chahin is a designer whose work bridges architecture, interiors, and cultural expression. She holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT), graduating summa cum laude while also competing on the university’s NCAA tennis team. Her studies took her to Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, and São Paulo, deepening her understanding of cities and commitment to sustainable design.

Professionally, Mouna has contributed to a wide range of projects—competitions, residential, multifamily, and cultural work—at both local and national scales. Her time at Woodhouse Tinucci Architects and ParkFowler Plus sharpened her skills across design phases while nurturing a focus on interiors. She is particularly attuned to materials, textures, lighting, and furniture, seamlessly integrating them into broader architectural visions. In 2024, she returned to IIT as a studio instructor, guiding students in projects that translated cultural narratives into architectural form.

Mouna brings authenticity and heritage into her design approach, drawing inspiration from her Syrian-American background. Outside of practice, she is passionate about ceramics and baking, grounding her creative life with tactile, hands-on making.
