Marilia's exposure to architecture and career path choice was greatly influenced by her mother, an architect and urbanist, and father, a civil engineer. Together they have developed research in sustainable construction materials.
Architecture represents a way in which Marilia can make a difference. With an undergraduate program tailored towards addressing architecture's impact on societal challenges, Marilia's passion lies in bettering underprivileged communities and applying sustainable principles in the design process while improving building performance.
Growing up in Brazil and having a hometown in the heart of the Amazon forest, its no surprise Marilia can be found outside, hiking, kayaking, and road-tripping for fun.
