We are honored to share that our design for the re-imagining of Wrocław’s Museum of Architecture has been recognized with the 2025 Architizer Vision Awards Editor’s Choice Winner in the Vision for Culture category. Selected from entries across more than 50 countries, this distinction is a marker of architectural representation at the highest level worldwide.
The Museum of Architecture in Wrocław is among the world’s oldest, housed within a 15th-century Gothic complex of vaults and cloisters. Our proposal weaves this heritage with a carbon-smart future, beginning with a mass-timber entry pavilion that echoes historic arches while opening the complex to the city. A glazed connector leads to a revitalized courtyard and a new Garden Hall inspired by Słowacki Park, extending the museum’s presence into the surrounding landscape.
Below grade, three subterranean levels safeguard archives, conservation labs, and a treasury, enhancing climate control and security. Kinetic terracotta louvers on the exterior reference Wrocław’s clay roofs, tuning light and ventilation, while inside, a gentle spiraling ramp delivers universal access to both permanent and temporary galleries.
Sunken Garden Hall
A glazed, below-grade reading room joins the new wing to the landscape, pulling daylight and greenery deep into the museum.
Accessible Route
One gently sloped ramp connects all exhibitions, providing a barrier-free path for every visitor without relying on lifts.
