Matt's first exposure to architecture was in fourth grade during an elementary school art program where he learned about Frank Lloyd Wright. This experience combined his love of Legos and seeing his father design residential gardens as a landscape contractor, and he knew he one day wanted to grow up to be an architect.
He began school in civil engineering, but his interest in architecture wouldn't subside. Realizing he was not destined to become an engineer, he focused his course on architecture.
Throughout his career, whether working in the west, east, or third coast, Matt’s design interests fall at the convergence of human livability and the technical act of building. He is always searching for the simplest and most practical solution that does not sacrifice elegance. This concept of simple elegance traverses scale and project types.
Having extensive residential, gallery, and institutional work, Matt brings a highly detail centric mindset to all of the complex projects he has worked on at Krueck Sexton Partners.
